Went to Mesob to celebrate my partners birthday with some friends and had such an amazing experience! The atmosphere and staff were so welcoming. They treated us like Kings and Queens! For food, we requested the chef to make us a variety of items. Everything was mouth watering delicious! They even surprised us with a birthday treat! We all cannot wait to go back for another beautiful stay at this deliciously amazing restaurant! Thank you so much to the staff at Mesob for making our evening a night to remember!

I had visited Mesob before COVID and it was actually where my husband and I met for the first time and we felt in love with the food back then and visited other times with friends and again didn’t disappoint in regards of the food but the service was a little disappointing. It’s my understanding the NEW owner that took over after COVID has Mesob to a different standard . The food it’s absolutely delicious and the service from Rebeca made us feel like family. We had a coffee ceremony and made us feel regal. I can’t say enough how wonderful it’s to visit this place because of the food and service and most of all the experience. I absolutely recommend 1000%

Delicious food, excellent service, I had the mesob combo with lamb, red lentils stew and potato stew, of course the delicious bread called injera comes with the meal, got the amazing coffee ceremony, coffee very tasty and baklava for dessert! Definitely will be back and recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes to experience ethnic Ethiopian cuisine!

This was a delight. I had a blast. It was my first time eating Ethiopian and I think the bar was set high. The staff was delightful and took time to explain what we were ordering. We did the coffee ceremony… a MUST DO! I will definitely be back. I think next time I will sit at the traditional mesob for the full experience!

Small dining area. Comfortable. Very friendly staff. Service was excellent. I've never had Ethiopian food before so I didn't really know what to expect nor did I know what to order. Leffe beer on the menu was a nice touch. I got a stew made with beef. I don't remember the name. My wife got pasta with meatballs. Who knew Ethiopians are so good at making Italian food. My daughter got a sample vegetarian plater. Everything was the perfect eating temperature. All in all we had a very favorable dining experience. Oh ya, baklava for dessert.

We came here based off a recommendation from family. I never tried Ethiopian food before and this was a great introduction. Walking in, the restaurant had a unique ambience and the waitress was very nice. We tried the taste of Ethiopia combo. We asked the waitress what veggy dishes she would recommend and she suggested the Tikel gomen and Lentil shiro. All the selections on the platter were all very flavorful, with spices and well balanced variety. I never had injera before today, it was a very nice sponge-like bread for the dish. Also, as someone who is gluten intolerant this bread was great. We weren't very hungry when we went here, but on a hungry stomach I think two dishes would suffice. All around, I enjoyed our experience here, the food was great, and I highly recommend giving this place a try. This place gives a "hole in the wall" vibe and is definitely one of those rare hidden Winnipeg gems. We would definitely come back to try more dishes.

I had the pleasure of dining at Mesob Ethiopian Eats last Saturday with my family, and it was truly a delightful experience. Though the space is small, it is impeccably clean and offers a warm, inviting atmosphere. You can immediately tell this is a family-run gem, where the passion for good food and hospitality shines through. Our host, Rebecca, was the epitome of kindness and courtesy. She made sure we were comfortable, often checking in to ensure everything was perfect, and her genuine care added such a personal touch to the meal. Now, let’s talk about the food. Each dish was an absolute delight. The Vegetable Combo was vibrant and full of flavor, offering a satisfying variety of textures and spices. The Yesom Firfir was rich, savory, and comforting, while the Shiro was wonderfully balanced with just the right amount of heat and depth. For the meat lovers, the Kitfo was incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned, truly a standout. We finished the meal with a sweet touch—Baklava—which was flaky, sweet, and the perfect end to a memorable evening. Overall, our experience at Mesob Ethiopian Eats was fabulous, and we left extremely satisfied. If you're looking for authentic Ethiopian cuisine in a warm, family-friendly setting, this spot is an absolute must-visit!
